How to work with an interior designer?
You know how you want to live; we know how to draw the place that allows it. A Mira Ceti project — a whole apartment or a single piece of furniture — moves in four steps, all pointed at one thing: a home that feels like you, while you only deal with the essential.
You decide at every step; we propose, we draw, we refine. Here is how it unfolds.
1 — Listening
Everything starts with you. Your habits, your mornings, what you love, what you miss. No questionnaire, no jargon: a conversation about the way you live — and the way you dream of living.
And on your side, that is all. The measurements, the surveys, the checks, the constraints: the entire technical side is our business — it will never be yours. You choose; we make it possible.
Details draw the best plans. You spend your Sundays listening to vinyl? The apartment should know it: the turntable within reach, the records in their place, the armchair in the right spot. You work from home three days a week? Your desk will not be a corner of the table. You take baths, never showers? Your bathroom will know it. And if the project is a piece of furniture — a bookcase for two thousand books, a dressing room for a wardrobe you know by heart — the listening is exactly the same: what you own, what you use, what you love to see. None of this is minor: it is precisely what we come to find.
What you receive at this step: the exact plans of your apartment as it is today — the base on which your whole project will be drawn.
2 — The first drawing
A few days later, we present the first drawing: your apartment, drawn differently. The rooms breathing, the light crossing through, the bookcase you had been talking about for years — and the listening corner, already in its place. It is the first time you see your home as it could be.
You love it, you hesitate, you would rather have it another way? This is exactly the moment. You decide, we redraw — as many times as it takes for it to be truly yours. The built-ins — bookcases, storage, dressing rooms — are drawn with the plan, in the same stroke as the rooms. And the furniture — the table, the headboard, the one-of-a-kind piece — has its own drawing, designed for the whole. Never afterwards: at the same time.
And when the piece of furniture is the project, the first drawing is its first portrait: the silhouette, the proportions, its exact place in the room.
What you receive at this step: the plan of your future apartment, built-ins included — and the first drawings of your furniture.
3 — The designed project
Then the project takes shape. Every room comes into focus, the materials get chosen — this parquet, this paint, this handle. And above all: you see everything. Faithful images of your finished rooms, furniture included. You are not approving plans: you visualise your apartment before the works — and you recognise your future home.
At every choice, we propose; you decide. Style, comfort, atmosphere: you only deal with the essential — the rest is our craft. A single piece receives the same care: drawn face by face, in its wood and its shade, then set in images in your room, at its exact place.
What you receive at this step: your complete project, in plans and in images. No room left for doubt.
Good decisions are made on images.
4 — The file
Finally, everything that has been decided is written into a precise file, ready for the company that will carry out the works — yours, or a works coordinator we can find for you. And when we say complete: everything is measured, dimensioned, referenced. Every shade has its exact reference, every material its source, every piece of furniture its dimensions, every switch its place on the plan. Designed furniture comes with its own fabrication drawings, ready for the craftsman who will build it. The building site will have no questions to ask you — they all, already, have their answer.
And afterwards? We remain available — for the smallest question, an adjustment, a clarification.
What you receive at this step: the complete file of your project — and a studio that remains within reach.
How long it takes
From listening to the file, count a few weeks — one to two months most often, and less still for a single piece. We move fast; you validate each step serenely, never rushed.
Your questions
Do we need to know what we want before contacting you?
No — it is even our favourite starting point. Listening is for exactly that: laying out your habits, your wishes, your hesitations, and turning them into a project. Precise ideas are not a prerequisite — the conversation is what brings them out.
What if we do not like the first drawing?
Then we redraw — as many times as it takes. That is what the first drawing is for: trying, reacting, adjusting, until the plan truly feels like you.
Is custom furniture part of the project?
That is your choice. In an apartment project, built-in furniture — bookcases, storage, dressing rooms — is naturally drawn with the plan. Beyond that, everything is open: pieces designed just for you, a selection we make on your behalf, or nothing at all. And a single piece of furniture can also be a project of its own.
Can we choose ourselves the company that will do the works?
Of course. The file we deliver is made for that: every dimension written, every material referenced, every detail settled. Your contractor can execute it directly — and if you do not have one, we can find a works coordinator for you.
Do you remain available during the works?
Always. A question from the site, a doubt about a finish, an adjustment: we remain available. The file prevents most questions; we are there for the rest.
